Job Overview
Linde Gases US (LGUS) division of Linde, Inc. is currently seeking a Production Technician at the Hatfield, Pennsylvania location. The objective of the technician is to ensure reliable, safe, and efficient operation of the Air Separation Plant.

The Hatfield Air Separation Plant manufactures low cost, high purity, industrial gases for our customers which is delivered via liquid transport. Responsibilities of Production Technician include, but are not limited to, performing routine production tasks, maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and plant startup/operation.

Primary Responsibilities

Startup, operate, and maintain the production plant and all associated equipment, tanks, controls, and truck fill systems

Troubleshoot plant shutdowns and perform corrective maintenance to allow for timely plant restarts

Coordinate scheduling of planned maintenance and perform preventative maintenance on plant components

Safely and efficiently operate units to continuously supply products at the appropriate quantity and quality

Monitor plant process performance and make appropriate adjustments to remedy deviations

Read and interpret P&ID's, Equipment Manuals, Electrical Schematics, One Line Diagrams, and various company procedures

Perform calibration of analyzers, field instrumentation, and have the ability to troubleshoot control system problems.

Perform equipment lock-out tag-out correctly, issue Hazardous work permits, and oversee contractor’s work performance as necessary

Safely troubleshoot, repair, and maintain rotating equipment and associated mechanical systems including compressors, pumps, fans, and valves

Prepare and execute projects to improve facility availability and reliability

Coordinate with other plant technicians and work in a team setting, as well as individually

Work in a safe and responsible manner at all times

Manage preventative and corrective maintenance work in compliance with established intervals

Communicate with other Linde business groups and contractors for support when required

Have a working knowledge of computers and typical computer programs (i.e. Excel, Word, Power Point)

Candidate Requirements

Ability to perform a combination of office work and field work

This position requires On-Call status every 4th week

As determined by plant performance, occasional overtime, holiday, and after-hours work could be required

Ability to work extended hours occasionally for planned and unplanned plant outages

Must be able to manage confined space entry, climb ladders and steps, lift up to 50 lbs., and work at heights

Must be able to access elevated electrical and mechanical equipment scaffolding and man-lifts

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to develop working relationships in a team environment with Linde operations, maintenance, and support personnel

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent is required

Mechanical/Maintenance experience required

3 or more years in Production Operations experience is highly desirable in any of the following fields:

Air separation or similar complex process control function

General maintenance of industrial equipment

Compressors and compressor maintenance

Industrial Mechanical

Industrial Electrical or Electrician

Instrumentation and control

Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning (HVAC)

Military technical fields:

Engineers, Machinist Mates, Electrician Mates, Gas Turbine Technicians, Boiler Technicians and Nuclear technicians, among others

Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting/repair skills

Proficiency with hand/power tools and test/measurement equipment, etc.
