The team consists of Portfolio Managers, Underwriters, Credit Analysts, Treasury Management and Commercial Card professionals, and Capital Markets partners. This team manages Commercial and Industrial relationships throughout their life – developing meaningful connections with management of the companies they serve, always mindful of changes that might alter their financial service needs.
Role Summary As the Commercial Team Lead you will lead a team of professional sales and product specialists who shape Commercial & Industrial solutions that attract prospective companies to award new business to UMB. From a sales and servicing perspective you will establish sales goals, service policies and standards that increase client satisfaction and retention. Because this is a leadership role you will have high visibility in the company and community, assist in setting the sales strategy for the region, and play a critical role in developing new business. Engaging and building relationships with your team, internal stakeholders, business owners, CFOs, CEOs, Controllers, and existing clients enables you to help clients achieve their financial goals and streamline business processes.
How you’ll spend your time Focus on team and individual goals to deliver a unified business approach and develop associates.
Oversee budgets, recruitment strategy for new associates, and the loan portfolio to insure profit and loss.
Negotiate credit arrangements with team members to prepare credit memoranda and supporting documentation for loan committee approvals.
Focus on community activities to promote UMB’s brand and win business.
Oversee the commercial portfolio monitoring through your team members to ensure loans perform to standard.
Qualifications 10 years of Commercial Banking experience.
Bonus points if:
Prior leadership experience.
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, or accounting.
Compensation US Employees in California, Washington DC, New Jersey, and New York: $150,940 - $236,390. US Employees in Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Massachusetts, Maryland, Minnesota, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Texas, Washington, and Wisconsin: $137,820 - $216,420. US Employees in all other states: $124,690 - $196,440.
The posted range represents UMB’s good faith estimate based on its budget and expected starting pay. Actual compensation may vary by location, experience level, and other factors.
