Position: Full-time News Reporter/Play-by-Play Announcer

We value creativity and the desire to win. We’re looking for someone who has the skills and ability to gather and write local news stories, conduct interviews for audio actualities, anchor local newscasts, and post stories on the website and social media.

This person will also be responsible for doing play-by-play of regional high school football and basketball games during the season. Some evenings and weekends will be required.

Previous on-air experience is preferred but not required. The right person for this position will need to live in Spencer, Iowa (or the surrounding area) and understand small-market, local radio while being willing to be involved in the community.

Other duties for this position include (but not limited to):

Gather and write local news stories

Conduct interviews in person and via phone for audio actualities

Cover local meetings & events for news coverage

Edit audio for air

Anchor newscasts

Post stories on website and social media platforms

Voice/produce commercials as assigned

Fill in voicetracking/board op as needed
