Position Summary
Responsible for overall management of Creative Operations, including budget control, people management, workflow management of projects, and serving as the point of contact for Aveda's Global Creative Director and the President. Work is aligned with Aveda branding, mission and values. All employees actively participate in the Behavior Based Safety (BBS) program and are required to follow all safety practices and procedures.
Oversee the day‑to‑day running of the department and its processes. Manage, coach, and develop department employees. Keep abreast of industry trends in retail stores and the salon industry. Manage workflow to ensure company goals are met. Liaise regularly with Marketing, Education and Shows, Retail, Salon Sales, and Advertising to discuss and clarify large projects. Work closely with direct reports to meet overall department objectives and address any challenges that require senior management resolution. Make executive decisions on critical creative issues or convene key team members to assist in decision‑making. Provide relevant information to the Global Creative Director for the development of branding campaigns, launches, promotions, shows/events, and timelines. Maintain consistent review systems with staff and external customers to assess progress in streamlining operations, achieving timely deliveries, and improving costs.
Responsible for managing the creative budget and resources of the creative department. Ensure resources meet corporate expectations and focus on the most critical initiatives. Coordinate with Design Planning to deliver collateral and packaging on schedule. Develop and implement strategies to maintain and grow Aveda brand equity, including creating corporate identity guidelines, educating key leaders, and partnering with senior management to regulate co‑branding. Provide business status reviews to the President and ensure projects stay within marketing budgets. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelors degree in design or business (relevant combination of education and experience may be considered).
- Experience: 10+ years in a senior management role leading cross‑functional teams.
- Experience in advertising or print industry (or other related industries such as Studio Management or Traffic Management).
