Summary of Job Duties
Foundation Seed Marketing
Market new varieties from the Foundation Seed program to seed dealers statewide
Represent the Foundation Seed program as a vendor at two annual rice field days
Organize a commercial field day for rice and soybean farmers and seed dealers
Attend industry meetings as an exhibitor, including:
Independent Professional Seed Association Annual Conference
Arkansas Seed Dealers Association Summer Convention
Anheuser‑Busch Annual Rice Grower Day and Discovery Farm Showcase
USA Rice Outlook Conference
Rice Technical Working Group
Establish and maintain regular communications with seed dealers, including monthly updates during the growing season
Assist with end‑user‑focused marketing efforts for ARoma 22 aromatic rice
Assist with special event communications and marketing
Develop marketing and promotional materials for AES
Create engaging marketing materials for event booths, flyers, and other promotional uses
Promote fruit varieties through targeted marketing efforts, including attendance at annual fruit field days
Create content for paid advertising (billboards, social media, etc.)
Food science building promotional activities
Develop materials promoting the new department of food science building for use by the UADA development team
Write copy for donor communications, including emails, thank‑you notes, individualized proposals, donor follow‑up, and talking points
Create templates for newsletters, letterhead and gift receipts
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a related field
Must submit a portfolio and/or links to previous marketing and communications work. Candidates should include a brief description of their role in creating submitted materials.
Preferred Qualifications
1+ years’ experience in marketing and/or communications
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proficiency with design tools (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite)
Positive and collaborative work ethic
Experience with donor communications or fundraising campaigns
Experience coordinating marketing or outreach events
Familiarity with agriculture, higher education, and/or commodity groups
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Ability to travel statewide and work occasional evenings for events and field days
