The Director of Production & Sourcing will manage the full lifecycle of orders from development through production. This person must be comfortable working in a fast pace entrepreneurial environment and managing communication between design, technical, and overseas factory teams. Hindi fluency is required for effective communication with factory partners.

Responsibilities

  • Extensive knowledge of fabrics, textiles, print processes, and checking measurements
  • Starting with fabric, finish, printing, stitching, embellishment, and measurements
  • Have a team to help implement these tasks
  • Coordinate development and production of orders from A to Z
  • Sourced woven, fabric, yarn, and trims with overseas factories and fabric mills
  • Developed SMS samples in various colors/fabrications
  • Negotiated pricing between sales and factories
  • Submit all submissions to buyer approval
  • Work with design & tech team during the production and development process
  • Create production timelines for factories and buyers to follow, streamlining the production process
  • Ensured factories adhered to buyers specific packing methods to avoid penalties
  • Oversee the sample process: shipping, logging, comments, and approvals
  • Communicate daily with overseas factories and buyers
  • Maintain costing, ticketing, and production/development charts in Excel/Word
  • Manage purchase orders and follow ups to ensure on time delivery
  • Handle pre production sample approvals, lab dips, trims, bulk fabric, and weekly fittings
  • Review and issue hang tags, price tickets, UPCs, labels, and carton markings
  • Collaborate with Design, Tech Design, and Merchandising teams
  • Spec garments and provide size measurement feedback to factories
  • Assist with garment grading
  • Communicate with private label retail teams when needed

Requirements

  • 5–10 years of experience in apparel production coordination
  • Strong garment spec knowledge and ability to measure/check fit
  • Highly organized with strong Excel skills
  • Experience managing multiple orders in a fast paced environment
  • Familiarity with A2000 software is a plus (currently used for inventory/sales)
  • Must thrive in a small company setting and take ownership of tasks from start to finish
