Operation Manager

Position Summary
Under the direction of the General Manager, the Operations Manager is responsible for day‑to‑day site operations, including supervising warehousing, receiving, and shipping of product in a manner consistent with company service and cost objectives. Responsibilities include planning inbound and outbound volume, customer communication, space utilization, equipment management, hiring, training, labor planning, performance appraisals, and problem resolution.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Develop systems and procedures for managing operations, equipment, and products safely and profitably in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Manage operations to meet productivity and service goals, complying with client SLAs.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and achieve cost savings.
Meet client‑specified KPIs and comply with Quality system requirements.
Create fair and motivating supervision programs, counsel, and discipline team members as needed.
Collaborate with Human Resources to design hiring, training, and professional development programs; participate in performance evaluation for promotions and wage increases.
Deliver results by leveraging the right people at the right time.
Keep senior management and client representatives informed of critical operational issues.
Plan the daily work schedule based on work orders, arrival notices, and customer instructions, assigning duties to appropriate staff.
Review volume demands to plan warehouse reorganization and adjust staffing, supplies, or equipment accordingly.
Ensure effective training and adherence to SOPs for all team members.
Maintain high motivation levels to achieve customer‑satisfaction goals.
Provide ongoing growth and development opportunities for team members.
Support adherence to Standard Operating Procedures.
Conduct routine staff meetings to review daily/weekly work activities.
Management Information Systems
Ensure all team members are trained and efficient in required information systems, including WMS, to meet company and client objectives.
Ensure appropriate purchase of computer software and hardware per Corporate IT policies.
Maintain knowledge of hardware and software technology changes.
Develop proficiency in client systems.
Customer Management
Manage high‑level customer service standards for all functions.
Provide required operational and administrative support for client accounts.
Maintain appropriate contact with all functions and respond to requests.
Attend or lead meetings with key customers to discuss issues.
Coordinate management of supplier/customer visits to the site.
Promote positive relationships with clients through excellent customer service.
Budgeting/Financials
Support development of an annual operating budget.
Develop and manage controls to ensure service levels and operational performance meet cost, revenue, and profit parameters.
Assist in ensuring budgeting and pricing activities comply with contract guidelines.
Equipment & Facilities
Manage programs for maintaining company standards of sanitation, maintenance, security, housekeeping, safety, and equipment.
Ensure team members receive proper training on material handling equipment (MHE).
Stay informed of new technology and make recommendations as applicable.
Safety
Achieve company safety goals, including injury frequency ratings, by fostering a proactive safety culture.
Audit warehouse for compliance with safety, security, and quality principles.
Ensure adherence to all statutory health and safety requirements.
Other Duties
Work overtime as dictated by business need.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Manage warehouse operations supervisors and support staff.
Skills & Abilities
Education & Experience
High school diploma or GED required.
Bachelor's degree preferred.
7 years of experience in logistics/distribution/relevant environment.
5 years of supervisory experience.
Ability to work in unregulated temperatures within the warehouse, ranging from mild to moderate during warmer and colder months.
Computer Skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Proficiency in applicable WMS systems.
Language Skills
English – reading, writing, verbal.
Business communication at all levels.

Compensation
Expected base pay range: $90,816.00 – $113,520.00 Annual. Actual compensation will be determined based on job‑related factors such as relevant experience, skills, education, certifications, and geographic location, in accordance with applicable laws and company policy.
