Overview
The Office of Communications and Marketing uses strategic communications to increase awareness of and support for the university among its constituents. It strengthens relationships, markets educational opportunities, and conveys key messages, while collecting feedback to improve the institution’s image.
Description of Work
The Digital Communications Coordinator manages the university’s social media channels, marketing through organic and paid content, and collaborates with staff to promote strategic priorities.
Develops, curates, and publishes content across multiple platforms, writing and editing for digital, social media, and multimedia audiences.
Captures and edits photographs, videos, and graphics.
Analyzes engagement metrics to assess communication effectiveness and informs campaign adjustments.
Competencies and Knowledge
Knowledge – Technical:
Proficiency in social media platforms, analytics, algorithms, and emerging digital trends.
Knowledge – Professional:
Strong writing, editing, storytelling, and content creation across digital and multimedia platforms; expert use of photography, graphic design, video, and content management tools.
Communication:
Ability to implement emerging technologies, convey complex information to targeted audiences, and maintain accurate, polished documents.
Consulting/Advising:
Advises internal and external stakeholders on communication strategies and evaluates their effectiveness.
Project Management:
Manages multiple priorities, collaborates with stakeholders, and delivers communications from creation through distribution.
Organizational Sensitivity:
Understands departmental missions, external expectations, and adjusts communications accordingly.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in a related discipline or equivalent combination of training and experience.
Demonstrated experience in social media strategy, content development, and digital marketing.
Proficiency in photography, graphic design, video production, and content management systems.
Strong analytical skills and ability to measure campaign performance.

Compensation
Class Salary Range: $35,880 – $96,560. Position Recruitment Range: $35,880 – $55,997. Permanent full‑time, non‑exempt.
