The salary range listed in this job description is a base salary. Applicants eligible for years-of-service adjustments or shift differentials may exceed salary range listed above.

Location:

117 N Riverside Drive, Jefferson City, MO. Workday start and end time have some flexibility, but employees must report to this physical location daily.

Responsibilities

Develop sign plans and utilize sign plans to determine sign needs for MSP facilities.

Help develop and maintain sign manual

Utilize sign manual to maintain sign consistency from facility to facility

Manage multiple sign project deadlines

Design signs utilizing existing templates and styles, or assign to Large Format team members

Design interpretive panels utilizing existing standards and templates, or assign to Large Format team members

Fabricate a variety of different signs on multiple types of substrates (insert sign types and sizes)

Maintain various pieces of equipment for sign making

Operate material moving equipment such as a forklift, pallet jack, hand dolly

Order and maintain supplies for adequate inventory, price checking, using state contracts, work with vendor to get the best price

Review and edit design work

Supervises and evaluates two graphic designers

Work with multiple graphics sections to provide visual consistency

Helps monitor budget

Shipping and distribution of signs and interpretive panels to facilities

Producing signs using vinyl cut letters, producing plaques using engraver, wide format printing

Produces large print for banners, posters, etc.

Qualifications

Partnering:

Uses computers, software such as Adobe applications, databases, and automated systems to accomplish work.

Holds self and others accountable for measurable high‑quality, timely, and cost‑effective results. Determines objectives, sets priorities, and delegates work. Complies with established control systems and rules.

Equivalent experience

Bachelor's degree in graphic design, art, or related field and 3–5 years of relevant design and management experience. (Additional education or experience may substitute for the required education or experience).

Training, certification, and/or education in continuous process improvement programs such as Lean Six Sigma as well as completion of Missouri Way, Leadership Academy, and similar programs is preferred.
