Position Description

Title: Stage Management Lecturer (Part‑time, 2026‑27 Academic Year).
Department: Claire Trevor School of the Arts, Department of Drama, University of California, Irvine.
Students will be taught a range of undergraduate and graduate courses in stage management, including but not limited to introductory and graduate-level projects. Instruction may be delivered in person, hybrid, or online.

Courses

Undergraduate: Drama 50E or 50K – Introduction to Stage Management (schedule TBD)
Graduate: Drama 240 – Graduate Projects (mentoring SM teams)
Graduate: Drama 254 – Graduate Stage Management (Spring 2027, further details to be defined)

Responsibilities

Conduct scheduled classes or deliver online content in accordance with UCI, CTSA, and Department of Drama policies.
Teach assigned courses aligned with the established syllabus and learning objectives.
Assess and evaluate student learning, including grading.
Be accessible to students in person or electronically to provide additional academic support.
Adhere to university‑wide policies for student evaluations of instruction and peer observations.

Qualifications

An MFA or commensurate experience in Drama/Stage Management is required. Candidates should have at least 3 years of college‑level teaching experience and 3 years of professional stage‑management experience. A strong record of inclusive excellence and the ability to work effectively with a diverse student population are essential.
