Position Overview
University of California, Irvine – Claire Trevor School of the Arts, Department of Drama. We are seeking part‑time lecturers for the 2026‑27 Academic Year (Fall, Winter, Spring quarters) in Stage Management.

Salary
Estimated range: $70,977 – $73,107 (see Unit 18 Lecturer table for specific scale).

Courses
Class sizes vary; courses are primarily in‑person, with possible hybrid or online delivery.

Undergraduate : Drama 50E or 50K – Introduction to Stage Management (schedule TBD)

Graduate : Drama 240 – Graduate Projects (mentoring stage‑management teams) and Drama 254 – Graduate Stage Management. Additional spring topics include Essentials of Stage Management, Self‑Marketing & Career Development, Equity, Entertainment Law, Production Management, Psychology and Self‑Care, Safety & Security, Technology, History of Performing Arts Organizations, and more.

Program timelines include planning, auditions, production meetings, tech and dress rehearsals, performances, and crew view sessions.

Responsibilities

Conduct scheduled classes or deliver online content per UCI, CTSA, and Dept. of Drama guidelines.

Teach assigned courses following the syllabus, learning objectives, and department policies.

Assess and evaluate student learning, including grade submission.

Be accessible to students for additional support, in person or electronically.

Follow university-wide policies for student evaluations of instruction and peer observations.

Qualifications

MFA

in Drama/Theater Arts/Stage Management or equivalent; required.

At least 3 years of college‑level teaching experience and at least 3 years of professional stage‑management experience.

Strong professional credits in stage management or an applicable field.

Commitment to inclusive excellence, consent‑based practices, and working effectively with a diverse student population.

Evidence of a pedagogical and professional profile compatible with distinguished stage‑management training at a major research university.
