Job Description
WINK-TV-Southwest Florida’s News Leader is seeking a talented and driven news reporter to report in Charlotte County, Florida. The ideal candidate will be passionate about journalism, able to work with a photographer independently and have a strong desire to produce high-quality, accurate, and engaging news content.

Responsibilities

Research and report on news stories in Charlotte County, Florida

Conduct interviews with community leaders, government officials, and local residents

Write and edit news articles for print and online publications

Develop sources and maintain relationships with contacts in the community

Attend events and press conferences to gather information and report on news stories

Stay up-to-date on local and national news and trends

Collaborate with colleagues and editors to develop story ideas and angles

Use social media and other digital platforms to engage with audiences and promote content

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, or a related field

2+ years of experience as a news reporter, preferably covering local news

Strong shooting, writing, editing and presentation skills

Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Knowledge of AP style and journalistic ethics

Comfortable using digital tools and platforms, including social media and content management systems

Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends
