Circulation Supervisor, Raynham Public Library

The Circulation Supervisor manages all aspects of daily operations in the Circulation Department, including assigning and reviewing work, scheduling, training, and supervising five Library Assistants. This position requires exceptional customer service skills and embraces the library’s values and mission. The ideal candidate possesses a desire to work in a public service role and the capacity to create a welcoming atmosphere. Excellent communication skills, patience, problem‑solving skills, and the ability to work with patrons and staff of varying ages and levels of expertise are required.

This is a 28‑hour per week position with full‑time benefits (non‑union). The rate of pay is $24.97 per hour. Hours are Monday and Wednesday 10:00‑15:00, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday 10:00‑16:00, with a Saturday rotation every three weeks (Saturday 10:00‑16:00). The position reports to the Director.

Responsibilities

Manage all aspects of daily operations.

Serve patrons at the Main Desk.

Assist the public in the use of library resources, equipment, and facilities.

Explain and enforce library policies, with thorough knowledge of circulation policies.

Manage museum passes in Assabet.

Fulfill ComCat requests.

Attend to daily, weekly, and monthly reports.

Foster and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues and the public.

Display enthusiasm and a capacity to learn new skills, especially regarding technology.

Exercise initiative and independent judgment in a variety of situations.

Demonstrate attention to detail, strong written communication skills, and the ability to work productively with frequent interruptions while balancing multiple projects.

Troubleshoot equipment and technologies.

Update website and social media (FB and IG).

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree.

Three to five years of library experience, preferably in a public library.

Three to five years of experience using library management software; WorkFlows preferred.

Supervisory experience.

Working knowledge of library apps (Hoopla, Kanopy, Libby).

Proficiency with computers and commonly used office software such as GSuite and Microsoft Office. WordPress, Assabet, Canva, or LibraryAware are a plus.

$24.97 per hour
