About the Role

The General Vending Unit is seeking an experienced and organized Special Applications Supervisor to lead the Application Review section of the unit. The position is responsible for overseeing application review, payment verification, waitlist administration, records management, and related licensing functions to ensure timely, accurate, and consistent processing of General Vending transactions.
Responsibilities

Supervise staff responsible for reviewing and processing applications, renewals, amendments, waitlist transactions, and supporting documentation.
Monitor application processing activities to ensure compliance with licensing requirements, agency policies, and established procedures.
Review complex applications, resolve processing issues, and provide guidance on eligibility and documentation requirements.
Monitor processing timelines, workloads, and staff productivity to ensure efficient operations.
Ensure the accuracy and integrity of General Vending waitlists, licensing records, and related data.
Establish and maintain quality control standards for application review and processing activities.
Respond to escalated applicant inquiries, complaints, and operational issues.
Develop and implement procedures to improve efficiency, consistency, and customer service.
Prepare reports, track performance metrics, and identify operational trends requiring management attention.
Coordinate with other Licensing units and support implementation of General Vending initiatives.
Qualifications

A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and three years of satisfactory full‑time progressively responsible clerical/administrative experience, one year of which must have been in an administrative capacity or supervising staff performing clerical/administrative work of more than moderate difficulty.
An associate degree or 60 semester credits from an accredited college and four years of satisfactory full‑time progressively responsible clerical/administrative experience including one year of the administrative supervisory experience described in item 1.
A four‑year high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a state department of education or a recognized accrediting organization and five years of satisfactory full‑time progressively responsible clerical/administrative experience including one year of the administrative supervisory experience described in item 1.
Education and/or experience equivalent to items 1, 2, or 3 above. However, all candidates must possess the one year of administrative or supervisory experience described in item 1. Education above the high school level may be substituted for the general clerical/administrative experience (but not for the one year of administrative or supervisory experience described in item 1) at a rate of 30 semester credits from an accredited college for 6 months of experience up to a maximum of 3½ years.
