Put yourself at the centre of deals shaping the global economy and develop a proprietary intelligence skillset that is in high demand.

You might have a degree in journalism, or a comparable subject, and early experience within B2B financial or business news gained either through permanent roles, internships or rotational programmes.

You will need a strong intellectual interest in finance and the competitive desire to position yourself at the cutting edge of the market in order to scoop market moving stories. You will be expected to be actively talking to the market, regularly setting up and attending in-person meetings, building your proprietary intelligence gathering skills.

You will join a collaborative editorial team producing trusted, primary-sourced intelligence for an audience of institutional investors, fund managers, and advisers on a fast-growing area of private markets: secondaries investment. There will be training on the specifics of the beat and sourcing off-diary intelligence in this market through a structured onboarding process. The role's output includes multimedia work and collective newsroom opinion pieces.

Key responsibilities

Break off-diary news on secondaries transactions, developing your sourcing with the guidance of senior editors.

Build a contact book across secondaries buyers, GPs, placement agents, advisers, and institutional investors, to support the existing team's network, working collaboratively across the editorial team.

Write accurate news and analysis for a senior professional readership.

Key requirements

A degree in journalism, or a related discipline, and early professional experience in financial or business journalism, including through internships or rotational programmes.

Strong writing skills with demonstratable experience writing for an expert audience, and experience building a contact book to obtain off-diary insights.

Genuine intellectual curiosity about financial markets and the ambition to develop into a specialist, scoop-driven, reporter.
