You will join a collaborative editorial team producing trusted, primary-sourced intelligence for an audience of institutional investors, fund managers, and advisers involved in secondaries investment.
As an experienced financial or business journalist, you will need the competitive desire to break news that puts your reporting at the cutting edge of the market. You will pro-actively build relationships with people in the market, developing your proprietary intelligence gathering skillset and growing your contact book.
There will be training on thorough onboarding process but a knowledge of private equity, and a track record of sourcing financial or business scoops is fundamental. In addition to these off-diary exclusives the role's output includes multimedia work and collective newsroom opinion pieces, which provide an opportunity for you to develop a distinct editorial voice.
Key responsibilities Break off-diary news on secondaries transactions, working with senior editors to become a known face in the sector.
Proactively build a contact book across secondaries buyers, GPs, placement agents, advisers, and institutional investors to support the existing team's network.
Write compelling news and analysis for the title's institutional readership
Key requirements Experience reporting within B2B financial or business journalism, knowledge of private equity.
A track record of breaking off-diary news through a self-built source network of and experience managing those source relationships.
Excellent writing skills, meaning the ability to write concisely & accurately on market critical stories, conveying core insights to an expert audience.
