Position Overview
Our client seeks a Radio Engineer. This position is the recognized resource responsible for the development of radio programming files for distribution and installation.
The position is responsible for identifying existing and requesting new Radio IDs, Talkgroups and Encryption for use in developing and building the templates installed into the client’s radios. This role requires extensive computer skills, accurate data entry into radio programming files and associated asset management software (EAM) and databases.
Responsibilities
Recognized resource for building radio programming templates for all client’s radios in the Metro Region totaling 44,401 radios.
Using EAM, Microsoft Access and Microsoft Excel to compile, record, and make database entries into the EAM system and associated databases.
Responsible for programming radios.
Supports other technical areas of the client as required.
Schedule & Location
Local candidates (strongly preferred) or non-local (must be willing to relocate at their own expense from acceptance with no delays & follow the hybrid schedule). The resource will work a hybrid schedule. No remote-only option. Onsite from day 1, two days a week. Location: Dimondale, MI.

Skills Required
3 years’ experience as a Radio/Communications Technician.
2 years’ experience with P25 Radio Programming (Motorola & Kenwood).
FCC General Radio Telephone License, APCO Certificate, or approved equivalent.
Desired Skills
Military/Public Safety/Radio Communications (not Network).
Two-way radio experience.
Previous P25 encryption experience/KMF (AES).
Rate depends on experience.
