Overview
The Audiovisual and Telehealth Specialist provides technical support for audiovisual systems, videoconferencing, recording, livestreaming technologies, computer projection and display, audio systems, teleconferencing, virtual meeting technologies, patient television systems, telemedicine technology, and interactive patient systems. The specialist supports events in person, virtually, and hybrid formats, operating, maintaining, installing, configuring, repairing, and upgrading systems to ensure optimal performance. They also instruct staff in the use of supported technologies.
Responsibilities
Set up, transport, configure, record, stream, test, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot audiovisual systems, videoconferencing systems, teleconferencing equipment, multimedia devices, televisions, monitors, projectors, recording equipment and software, speaker sets, digital cameras, and presentation equipment for meetings and events.
Support end users in provisioning, setup, and use of virtual meeting software platforms.
Train staff in use of audiovisual hardware and software in meeting rooms and with Johns Hopkins approved virtual meeting software.
Perform onsite analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of complex audiovisual hardware and software problems for a variety of end users; recommend and implement corrective solutions, including vendor repair as needed.
Help maintain an inventory of equipment, cables, and parts.
Install audiovisual and television system technology or assist in vendor installations.
Provide expert technical support of patient television systems, interactive patient systems, and integrations with various information systems.
Support audio, video, and television broadcast systems in hospital interfaith chapels.
Document equipment and system failures, repairs, installations, and removals.
Respond to support requests in a timely fashion.
Effectively perform other relevant duties assigned.
Qualifications
Education:
Associate’s degree required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
Experience:
2–5 years of experience supporting audiovisual systems; 1 year of experience supporting patient television systems and telemedicine systems preferred.
Knowledge of audiovisual systems.
Knowledge of patient television systems, including interactive features.
Knowledge of telemedicine technologies.
Knowledge of video production equipment.
Knowledge of audio systems and recording systems.
Knowledge of video editing software.
Knowledge of videoconferencing systems.
Knowledge of Apple and Microsoft computer platforms.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office automation software.
Knowledge of Zoom and Microsoft Teams.
