Lecturer of Film/Video Production – University of Colorado Denver
Position: Lecturer (Part‑time). FTE: 0.225 per 3 credit course. Salary: $5,371.19 per 3 credit course. Teaching load: one or two classes per semester (3‑6 credit hours).

Responsibilities

Inspire and train the next cohort of filmmakers with practical, hands‑on experience.

Teach courses such as Lighting, Grip & Sound, Cinematography, Producing, and/or Editing.

Guide students through real‑world projects, helping them develop technical and artistic skills.

Mentor students and contribute to a collaborative faculty culture.

Shape and help grow the Film & Television program.

Minimum Qualifications

MFA in Film/Video Production (a BA with substantial professional industry experience may substitute).

At least 2 years of teaching experience at the high‑school or college level.

Proficiency with Adobe Premiere, Protools or Adobe Audition, and state‑of‑the‑art camera and lighting equipment.

Ability to mentor, inspire, and collaborate with students and colleagues.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in post‑production techniques and post‑production coursework.

Experience teaching at the college level beyond the minimum.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Extensive knowledge of Lighting, Grip & Sound, Cinematography, Producing, and/or Editing.

Strong teaching and communication skills.

Capacity to mentor students and foster a collaborative learning environment.

Creativity, innovation, and a commitment to student growth.

Compensation and Benefits
Salary: $5,371.19 per 3 credit course.

This position is not eligible for overtime compensation or benefits.
