An established commercial insurance company is looking for a hard-working Commercial Lines Account Manager for their Brooklyn, NY branch. After nearly a decade of providing their clients with quality service and quality products, their goal remains the same, to ensure that their clients are insured properly and sufficiently. They work with the leading insurance companies in the industry as well as a labyrinth of other companies. They work diligently and efficiently to properly tailor their client’s policies, helping them to protect their assets and their businesses.

Responsibilities The Account Manager will provide a high level of sales support to the Producer and customer service to clients
The position requires a significant degree of independent judgment and discretion to meet those service levels
The Account Manager will assist in the production of new and renewal accounts in keeping with Agency and individual Producer goals and provide field service in support of Producer activities
The Account Manager is responsible for assisting clients with service needs and making changes to existing accounts
Please note that the duties below can vary based on the workflow of your local office
Responds to client request for policy changes, billing inquiries and verification of coverage
Ensures that these items are given to client in a timely manner
Maintains follow-up and suspense file on outstanding orders, correspondence, claims, renewal expirations and follows up on overdue and suspense items
Checks new and renewal policies and endorsements for accuracy in coverage
Determines reasons for request for cancellations and acts to retain accounts
If unable, secures Lost Policy Release and follows through to policy cancellation
Participates in continuing professional development as required by state licensing requirements and Agency guidelines
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications High School Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
1–3 years of Commercial Lines experience preferred, but not required — training will be provided for the right candidate
Professional communication, organization and writing skills
Experience in Quoting and Marketing New and Existing accounts is preferred.
Proficient in completing applications, determining proper coverage and carrier placement is preferred.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Solid background in using Applied Epic (Preferred), Excel and Microsoft Word
Property and Casualty License Preferred; not required but must be willing to obtain
