Role Description The Volunteer Animal Story Video Editor will create compelling video stories that highlight the journeys of shelter animals, foster families, and partner organizations. This remote volunteer role involves editing raw footage, selecting impactful clips, adding basic motion graphics, and performing color grading to produce engaging content for social media and the organization’s website. The Video Editor will collaborate with team members to align videos with campaign goals and messaging, and may help adapt videos into different formats for various platforms. This is a volunteer, unpaid role designed for individuals who want to support animal welfare through their creative and technical video skills.
Qualifications
Strong skills in Video Production and Video Editing, with experience assembling narrative-driven stories from raw footage.
Proficiency in Video Color Grading to enhance visual quality and maintain consistent look and feel across projects.
Ability to create basic Motion Graphics and incorporate Graphics to support storytelling, lower thirds, titles, and calls to action.
Familiarity with common video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve) and common digital formats.
Attention to detail, strong sense of visual storytelling, and ability to work independently in a remote volunteer environment.
Reliable internet access, ability to manage deadlines, and openness to feedback and collaboration with a volunteer team.
Interest in animal welfare and alignment with the organization’s mission; prior experience in nonprofit or advocacy work is a plus.
