Overview
The Production Finance Executive will lead Amazon MGM Studios Original Movies, overseeing the month‑end financial reporting process, technical accounting research and documentation, and account reconciliation review for a portfolio of original productions. This role manages all facets of production finance operations, from team leadership to ensuring timely and accurate reporting of actual and estimated show costs.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as the main point of contact for the financial operation of multiple original movie productions.
Work with production accountants and production managers to drive accurate, complete, and timely cost reporting, protecting and managing show assets and supporting production.
Partner with Production, Business Affairs, Legal, Tax, Finance, and Accounting to ensure accurate reporting of estimated final costs.
Ensure that the Amazon MGM Studios production accounting policies and procedures are uniformly implemented, are in accordance with standards established by Amazon MGM, and are in compliance with collective bargaining agreements and state and local tax regulations.
Liaise with Production Audit, Tax, Accounting, and Legal to ensure production finance policies and procedures are current and effectively implemented.
Identify and address problems quickly including breakdowns in communication.
Stay abreast of current and changing industry trends, evolving technologies, and production incentives.
Travel to production locations where our shows are filming to review workflows, organizational abilities, and effectiveness of accounting staff.
Ad hoc analyses and projects as required.
Basic Qualifications
5+ years of experience as a Production Finance Executive or Production Accountant.
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or related field.
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced knowledge of various production accounting software such as Movie Magic Budgeting, Scenechronize, EP Smart Accounting, Vista, PSL.
Knowledge of tax incentive programs.
Knowledge and experience with union/guild agreements.
Experience with international productions.
Highly motivated, analytical, proactive and self‑sufficient.
Ability to plan and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Must be able to work independently and team up with various divisions.
Able to earn the trust and respect of internal and external business partners.
Strong organization and time management skills.
Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment.
Compensation
The base pay for this position ranges from $85,800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $183,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience.
