LHH is currently recruiting for a Product Development Manager for a permanent opportunity with our client in the Dallas, TX area. The ideal candidate has at least three years of hands‑on product development experience within CPG and understands how to bring physical products to market in a fast‑paced, detail‑driven environment. This is an onsite role at our client’s office in the Dallas area.
Responsibilities
Manage product development projects from initial concept through production and launch.
Partner with cross‑functional teams including design, marketing, sourcing, operations, packaging, sales, and leadership to keep projects moving forward.
Coordinate with domestic and/or international vendors, manufacturers, and suppliers on product specifications, timelines, samples, pricing, and production requirements.
Track development calendars, critical milestones, sample approvals, testing, packaging updates, and launch deadlines.
Support new product ideation by monitoring consumer trends, competitive products, category opportunities, materials, finishes, packaging, and market innovation.
Review samples and prototypes to ensure products meet quality, brand, cost, functionality, and timeline expectations.
Maintain accurate product documentation, including specifications, costs, vendor communication, development notes, and status updates.
Identify risks, delays, cost changes, or quality concerns and proactively communicate solutions to internal stakeholders.
Work with marketing and creative teams to ensure product positioning, packaging, and launch materials align with the overall brand strategy.
Support process improvements that increase speed, accuracy, communication, and efficiency across the product development lifecycle.
Qualifications
3+ years of product development experience, ideally managing physical consumer products from concept through launch.
CPG industry experience required.
Experience in beauty, skincare, apparel, accessories, personal care, lifestyle products, or related consumer categories strongly preferred.
Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, timelines, vendors, and internal stakeholders at once.
Experience working with samples, product specifications, packaging, costing, timelines, and production milestones.
Strong attention to detail and ability to identify potential issues before they impact launch timelines.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a collaborative, solutions‑oriented approach.
Comfortable working onsite 5 days/week in Dallas.
Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, merchandising, product development, supply chain, design, or a related field preferred.
