POSITION OVERVIEW
Perform on a daily video editing in support of the PBS NewsHour Productions and WETA productions. Perform other duties as may be assigned in accordance with union jurisdiction. This position is covered by the IBEW union contract.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Video Editing with AVID for the PBS NewsHour Productions and WETA productions.
Collaborate with NewsHour producers to deliver video elements such as packages, SOTs, and VOs for insertion into the PBS NewsHour and/or other productions under the WETA umbrella.
Meet deadlines under pressure in a fast‑paced, live news network environment.
Perform related special projects and other technical duties as assigned.

ADDITIONAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum five years of experience as an AVID editor at a network or local station or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Strong working knowledge of AVID editing platforms and experience partnering with producers in fast‑paced, deadline‑driven production environments.
Knowledge of video and audio signal flow and monitoring to maintain the highest technical standards in compliance with FCC, PBS Network and Company production policy.
Working knowledge of routing panels, transmission, file‑based signal flow and media asset management systems.
Ability to adapt to changing assignments on a daily or hourly basis and work extended or irregular shifts, including holidays and weekends, as needed.

WETA and NewsHour Productions are Washington, DC‑based public media and news organizations. The workforce is largely local and is based out of the Campbell Place office in Arlington, VA. Most positions based in our Arlington, VA office will be onsite or hybrid, depending on the role.
