Position Summary

We are seeking a Communications Coordinator to support internal communications and employee engagement initiatives within a large manufacturing organization. This individual will play a key role in developing clear, timely, and engaging communications that keep employees informed while supporting organizational priorities, leadership initiatives, and community engagement efforts.

The ideal candidate is an organized, collaborative communicator with strong writing skills who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

Key ResponsibilitiesInternal Communications
  • Develop, create, and maintain internal communication content across multiple channels, including:
    • Employee newsletters
    • SharePoint and intranet sites
    • Digital signage and communication boards
    • Company-wide email announcements and alerts
    • Presentation materials for leadership meetings and town halls
    • Printed communication materials
  • Coordinate both routine and time-sensitive communications related to:
    • Employee and organizational updates
    • Safety initiatives
    • Operational changes
    • Planned or unplanned business interruptions
    • Leadership visits
    • Company-wide initiatives
  • Develop and maintain communication toolkits, including:
    • Key messaging
    • Talking points
    • Templates
    • Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
    • Communication channel guidance
  • Ensure all communications are consistent with organizational values, business priorities, safety standards, and established communication practices.
Employee Engagement & Events
  • Support the planning and execution of internal and external events, including:
    • Town hall meetings
    • Leadership visits
    • Employee engagement activities
    • Community outreach events
  • Assist communications leadership with community engagement initiatives, including:
    • Charitable giving and donation programs
    • Volunteer activities
    • Community partnerships
    • Other external communication efforts
Corporate Communications Support
  • Assist with communications related to company-wide initiatives impacting employees, including:
    • Human Resources and benefits communications
    • Workforce initiatives
    • Business and operational updates
    • Continuous improvement initiatives
    • Technology and system communications
  • Adapt enterprise-level messaging into clear, audience-appropriate communications for local teams and leaders.
  • Support additional communications and corporate affairs projects as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field, or currently pursuing completion of a bachelor's degree.
  • One to three years of experience in a communications, public relations, or corporate communications role is preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with knowledge of AP Style.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with SharePoint or similar intranet platforms is preferred.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple assignments.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a communications team.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships across all levels of an organization.
  • Comfortable working in a manufacturing or industrial environment with a strong commitment to workplace safety.
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and willing to support a variety of communication initiatives as business needs evolve.

Pay Rate:  Up to $32.00 per hour depending on experience
