Business Strategy Plan and Execution Director

The Business Strategy Plan and Execution Director is responsible for strategic planning and customer insight work in partnership with business units and will be part of the Carelon Execution Center of Excellence nested within Carelon’s Strategy & Growth organization. The role works across Carelon businesses to accelerate Carelon's most critical priorities through strategic problem solving, capability building, and execution. Prior engagements include business unit strategy development, new capability development, and operating model design.
How you will make an impact
Manages strategic projects, reports and analysis; leads the development and direction of selected issues and projects.
Supports complex, high‑profile initiatives (often multiple concurrently) at the direction of the VP of Growth & Strategy.
Understands all aspects of the business and partners with executive leadership to define strategy and success criteria for the future.
Translates strategy into defined tactics, program/project priorities, and timelines, ensuring alignment and attainment of enterprise strategic plans.
Documents strategic priorities such as external environment and reports on customer insight research initiatives.
Builds and leverages relationships to provide innovative solutions to complex business problems.
Identifies and proposes opportunities to improve results based on continuous needs assessment.
Propagates execution methods, techniques, or approaches that improve execution confidence and reduce risk.
Responsible for the development, implementation, and monitoring of line of business planning and project activities.
Travels to worksite and other locations as necessary.
Minimum Requirements
BA/BS degree in a related field and a minimum of 10 years of related experience, including prior leadership experience and 3 years of strategic planning; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Skills, Capabilities and Experiences
Strong program management skills and a track record of working through ambiguity in a complex, multi‑stakeholder corporate environment.
Prior strategy or management consulting experience.
Experience translating complex, technical information into presentation‑friendly formats, including graphical displays, to a wide variety of internal and external executive audiences.
Healthcare domain experience on the payor or provider side.
Prior experience supporting complex, high‑profile initiatives.
Program/project set‑up, advisory, governance, and management experience.
Developing and delivering executive‑level communications.
Master’s degree preferred.
Benefits and Compensation
For candidates working in person or virtually in the below locations, the salary range for this specific position is $137,920 to $227,568.
