Overview
The Director of Merchandising & Design is responsible for defining and executing the strategic vision for Artistree’s product assortment, design direction, and merchandising strategy. This leader drives profitable growth by delivering trend‑right products, compelling value, and innovative services that inspire customers and differentiate the brand. The role oversees end-to‑end category performance, including assortment strategy, pricing and promotions, product innovation, and cross‑functional execution to ensure the right products are delivered to the right customer at the right time.
Major Activities
Merchandising & Growth Strategy
Develop and execute category strategies that drive sales, margin, traffic, and customer engagement.
Lead assortment planning, product selection, and promotional strategies using analytics, consumer insights, and market trends.
Build long‑range growth plans and identify opportunities to accelerate category performance and innovation.
Own pricing and promotional calendars to maximize value perception and ROI.
Design & Product Innovation
Establish the creative vision for the Design team, ensuring trend‑right, commercially viable assortments.
Lead innovation in products, services, and experiences that delight customers and create competitive advantage.
Guide development of new capabilities and offerings that expand Artistree’s growth opportunities.
Cross‑Functional Leadership
Partner with Sourcing, Inventory, Operations, Marketing, Finance, E‑commerce, and IT to ensure flawless execution from concept to customer.
Drive seamless omnichannel experiences and support system enhancements that simplify operations and improve the customer journey.
Build strong supplier partnerships that foster innovation, quality, and long‑term value creation.
Team Leadership
Build and develop high-performing teams through coaching, talent development, and succession planning.
Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, collaboration, and customer obsession.
Inspire teams to think strategically, execute with excellence, and continuously challenge the status quo.

Preferred Education/Experience
Bachelor’s degree
Minimum Type Of Experience Required
10+ years of experience with a major retailer, brand or product development/sourcing company.
Strategic Leadership
Product Development, Owned Brand and/or Merchandising experience
Strong Financial Acumen
