Member Account SpecialistHouston Federal Credit UnionLocation: 16320 Kensington Drive, Sugar Land, TX. 77479Employment Type: Full TimePosition Hours: 9:00am - 6:00pm Monday - Friday, rotating schedule for Saturdays 9am - 2pm.Role:To preserve the credit union's assets by controlling delinquent loan accounts, collecting delinquent loan payments and/or recovering collateral and minimizing losses on negative deposit accounts.Essential Functions:Contacts delinquent and negative balance accounts by phone and mail; takes appropriate action to bring current/positive.Analyzes financial situation of delinquent borrowers; makes recommendations to repossess collateral when other arrangements to bring the loan current are unsuccessful.Analyzes financial situation of delinquent borrowers; makes recommendations to repossess collateral when other arrangements to bring the loan current are successful.Documents all contacts with detailed notes and reports on collections activity.Prepare reports as assigned.Testifies at legal proceedings as required.Informs management of trends in loan underwriting contributing to delinquent/charged-off loans.Performs other duties as assigned.Performance Measurements:Ensure timely contact of members with delinquent loans to inquire about re-payment intent. Initiate calls to members on the generation of the prescribed delinquency notice.Ensure timely contact of members with negative balance accounts to inquire about intent to bring account positive.Maintain accurate, detailed and complete records of all collection and recovery activity.Ensure collection activity is always within credit union policy and compliance with applicable laws and regulations.Enter a concise, professional memo in the appropriate collections system of each contact or contact attempt.Prepare reports accurately meeting established deadlines.Provide informed, professional assistance and support to all members and associates, to troubleshoot and resolve inquiries in a timely, friendly and accurate manner.Maintain a professional work environment and a businesslike appearance.Maintain a dependable record of attendance and timeliness.Responsible for compliance with all required regulations and policies, especially with all Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) policies, procedures and regulations.Knowledge and Skills:Experience:One year to three years of similar or related experience.Education:A high school education or GEDInterpersonal Skills:Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for the purpose of first-level conflict resolution, building relationships, and soliciting cooperation.
