Overview
PubW is looking for a talented Director, Strategy to oversee Media Planning and Strategy functions for a high‑profile and fast‑paced account. The Director will develop, execute, and steward integrated media plans for the client’s business, using strategic thinking while balancing client and team needs. This position reports directly to the VP, Strategy.

Responsibilities

Lead the client’s business and oversee all aspects of the assigned LOB(s)

Execute high‑level strategy and manage the media plan development, implementation, and execution

Identify key target insights to formulate strategic recommendations

Manage projects and resources for the subsidiary/business unit

Maintain in‑depth knowledge of the client business

Ensure teams adopt best‑in‑class tools, techniques, and systems to deliver plan recommendations aligned to client objectives

Understand how consumers interact with channels and technology

Provide direction, management, and support to direct and indirect reports

Supervise, train, and develop staff (managing workload, delegating responsibilities, checking work accuracy, performance management)

Participate in special projects involving cross‑department team development

Participate in new business efforts and pitches as needed

Qualifications

B.A. or B.S., preferably in Marketing, Advertising, or related field

8+ years of experience in media planning at a marketing/advertising agency

4+ years of experience managing team members

Proven experience presenting plans to clients and influencing decisions

Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and quantitative/analytical skills

Adept at injecting ideas, innovation, and leading industry developments into planning assignments

Detail‑oriented and able to thrive in a fast‑paced environment

Computer skills: Microsoft Suite, Nielsen Suite, Kantar, IMS, Flowchart Software, R/F and Optimization Software, Social Tracking tools, comScore, Prisma, Mbox, MRI/GfK, GWI

Professional communication skills and diplomacy

Accountable and flexible; works in fast‑paced settings

Defines and implements professional standards for team participation, conflict resolution, and communication

Guides others in defining high‑level strategy for business units

Manages budget, controls costs, and plans and schedules around cost concerns

Curious and passionate about the client’s business

Positive, team‑player attitude

Compensation
USD $129,485.00 – USD $169,234.00 annually
