Communication Specialist I - Dispatcher - 911 Operator

The City of Midwest City is accepting applications for a Communication Specialist I in the Emergency Communications Department. The incumbent receives, analyzes, and dispatches messages to radio-equipped units of Police, Fire & Ambulance departments and monitors burglar & fire alarms. High school graduate or equivalent required with previous experience in operation of a two-way radio, and computer terminal with OLETS certification preferred. Must pass data entry test (minimum of 5500 keystrokes/hr) and in-depth background check, polygraph, drug screen, and hearing test. This position is designated as safety/security sensitive and is subject to pre-employment, reasonable suspicion, and random drug and alcohol screening. Starting salary $24.2841-$25.7130/hr.
