Overview
The Assistant Director reports to the Executive Director of Marketing and Communications and works closely with a team of specialists in graphic design, multimedia design, web development, content management, and digital communications. The role focuses on strategic planning, content development, and project management to drive audience engagement and ensure consistent, high‑quality messaging across platforms.
Duties and Responsibilities
Manage multiple projects efficiently in a fast‑paced environment with fluctuating priorities.
Represent the MarCom team in the absence of the Executive Director.
Adhere to PVCC brand, style, and accessibility guidelines.
Contribute messaging and communications for multiple audiences including students, adult learners, community members, and program areas.
Plan, organize, and manage time effectively.
Write and edit content with high-level communication skills, including AP Style.
Collaborate with stakeholders in a customer‑based service environment.
Use Office 365, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Adobe Suite.
Understand accessibility regulations and WCAG 2.1 Level AA standards.
Improve and build processes and tools to elevate team efficiency.

25% – General marketing and communication support, including content development and reporting.

Required Qualifications
Experience in marketing, communications, or public relations.
Ability to analyze data from multiple sources for strategic decision making.
Experience applying marketing strategies in a higher‑education or complex environment.
Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple projects.
Professional presence with a commitment to exceptional customer service.
Independent project execution from concept to completion.
Effective collaboration in a multi‑functional environment.
Excellent written communication skills across platforms.
Additional Considerations
