Job Summary:
Fredericksburg United Methodist Church in Fredericksburg, TX is seeking a Worship Leader to join our team. The Worship Leader will be responsible for working with the senior pastor to plan and lead Christ-centered contemporary worship services that engage and inspire the congregation to glorify God. This role requires vocal and musical proficiency, team leading, scheduling and organization skills, and a heart for worship. Leading with a musical instrument is preferred, but not required. The position is approximately 8 to 10 hours per week mostly evenings and on Sunday. Special services during the year (Christmas and Easter seasons) will also be an important, required part of this job. Playing for weddings or funerals is additional pay.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead worship services in collaboration with the pastors

Meet weekly with pastor and other worship staff to plan and coordinate worship

Align songs choices to match message and encourage congregational participation

Schedule Sunday volunteer rotations and musician rehearsals

Lead 9am service in contemporary band worship

Attend 11:10 service to help run sound, Pro-P, and Lightkey (training available)

Design Sunday service slides by inputting songs and liturgy into ProPresenter system weekly

Foster spiritual and musical growth within the worship band and congregation

Qualifications:

A personal and growing relationship with Jesus Christ

3 years of worship-leading experience, preferably in a church setting

Strong vocal and instrumental (guitar or keyboard) skills

Ability to lead and develop musicians and vocalists

Proficiency in utilizing worship tracks and familiarity with worship technology

Leadership, communication, and organizational skills

A passion for worship and leading others into God’s presence

Proficiency in or willingness to learn Planning Center, ProPresenter, LightKey, Soundboard and Online Streaming system

Hours and Compensation:

Pay: $1,200.00 - $1,500.00 per month depending on experience

Expected hours: 8 to 10 hours a week

Schedule: Tuesday meeting with the pastor (day or evening), selecting songs and preparing xkmhxrz for rehearsal and worship anytime during the week, input information into Pro-P any time before Sunday morning, rehearse (day and time TBD by Worship leader and band) and lead Sundays from 8am-12pm
