SUMMARY/SCOPE:

Serves as Event SupportTechnician; ensures campus facilities are operational and functioning foroptimum educational experiences.

Responsible for the set-up andexecution of campus activities and/or events.

Responsible for maintenance ofand upkeep of event equipment and supplies.

HSU JOB FAMILY CLASSIFICATION INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assistswith the daily management of campus facilities. Arranges and overseesfacilities set-up for faculty, staff, students, and constituents for various campusevents.

Works underthe direct supervision of the Manager of Event Services and other Event SupportTechnicians as a team to complete all necessary tasks in a timely manner.

Assistsin the supervision and training of several student workers. Ensures student workersare assigned specific daily tasks and responsibilities. Follows-up on assigned tasksfor quality control. This includes oversight of student workers at the MabeeComplex as well as in the Facilities Department.

Completessimple maintenance of assigned facilities, including but not limited torecycling, office set-ups, and deliveries.

Responsible for set-up, teardown, and successful execution of HSU athletic events on days, nights, andweekends, depending on when the events are scheduled.

Responsible for updating theManager of Event Services with any necessary information pertaining to alloperational needs and/or issues of concern.

Assistin ensuring campus functions occur without any difficulties.

Meets daily with the Manager ofEvent Services and Event Support team.

All HSU employees are expectedto adhere to the HSU Personnel Handbook and Safety Handbook in following allcampus policies and procedures.

Performs other duties asassigned by Manager of Event Services or Director of University Events.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

There are no supervisoryresponsibilities for this position, except for student workers.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safetyrules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Abilityto write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectivelybefore groups of customers or employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all unitsof measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability tocompute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of WordProcessing software, Spreadsheet software, Human Resources/Payroll systems for TimecardEntry, Order Processing Software, Internet, etc.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

High School Diploma and/or 2-3 years minimum of relatedexperience preferred.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

This is aNon-Exempt/Hourly Staff position. Aregular FT 40, FT 30 or PT 20 - 29 or PT 19 or less hours workweek is required plus occasionalovertime as this position does require employees to be "on call" periodically.

This positionrequires traditional work hours as well as regular weekend work and occasionalevening and/or holiday scheduled work in order to meet internal and/or externaldeadlines along with maintenance of emergencies, etc.

Mustbe able to work flexible shifts when required and/or other days when needed.

On-call duty isrequired when a response is necessary.

All hoursworked beyond 40 hours in a single work week will be compensated at time and ahalf, per FLSA guidelines.

Must have andmaintain a valid Class C Driver's License and maintain a clear driving recordto be insurable under the university liability policy.

Must be able todrive to complete work assignments on and off campus, as needed.

Additionaltravel may be required on occasion.

HSU EventSupport Uniform is provided and required to be worn while on duty.
