Child and Youth Growth and DevelopmentFoster a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment that supports the developmental, cognitive, social-emotional, and physical needs of youthBuild positive relationships with students and encourage youth voice and leadershipMust be able to resolve conflict and guide student behavior restoratively2. Learning Environments and CurriculumDesign and deliver project-based, culturally responsive, and enrichment-focused curriculum aligned with school-day learning and youth interestsImplement academic support, SEL, and enrichment activities that reflect best practices in youth development3. Child/Youth Observation and AssessmentTrack student participation, progress, and engagement to inform planning and ensure continuous improvementSupport individual learning goals and behavior strategies in coordination with school-day educators.4. Program Planning and DevelopmentDevelop program schedules, lesson plans, and materials to meet program goals and compliance standards.Coordinate logistics, including space usage, supplies, and daily operationsContinuous Quality Improvement-Engages in a data-driven program quality improvement process; uses assessment and reflection data to inform academic instruction, literacy activities, and small groupCollaborate with school site stakeholders to develop programs that support student development and academic success5. Family, School, and Community RelationshipsCultivate strong relationships with school staff, families, and community partners to support program outcomes.Facilitate family engagement events and communicate regularly with caregivers6. Health, Safety, and WellnessEnsure that program practices meet or exceed health and safety standardsUphold policies related to child supervision, emergency preparedness, and mandated reportingEnsure safety standards, policies, and procedures are being met at all times7. Professionalism and LeadershipServe as a role model for staff and youth; uphold high ethical and professional standardsMust maintain confidentiality and demonstrate a high degree of integrityParticipate in ongoing professional development aligned with the NAA competencies.On the ground visibility, which may include, but is not limited to, daily observations, side-by-side modeling, and coaching.Provide professional development, monthly meetings, and 1:1 supervision check-ins for all staff.Participate in all meetings, workshops, and activities organized by BACR and District partnersMust have working knowledge of DEI concepts.8. Program Administration and OversightSupervise program staff, volunteers, and activity leaders, providing guidance, support, coaching, and feedback.Manage attendance records, reporting requirements, and assist with grant compliance as needed. Submit all required documentation on a timely basis, including program reports, as applicable. Submit monthly student attendance and student snack reports on a timely basisResponsible for all aspects of the day-to-day operation of the program at the school site, including: facilities management, attendance tracking and reporting, state, district, agency school requirements, grant compliance, supervision, and safety of the program, and program designEffectively manage student recruitment, enrollment, scheduling, and registration procedures to meet programattendance goalsCarry out People and Culture procedures and practices for staff recruitment, screening, hiring, and termination, as well as performance evaluations, performance discussion documentation, and performance improvement plans.Track and monitor payroll by deadline.It is a BACR Best Practice to recognize the needs and strengths of the people we serve and support their development.
