Temporary Marketing and Communication Specialist for Student Wellbeing

Student Wellbeing (Office of Student Wellbeing)

Salary Range:

$17.25 – $26.50 per hour

Work Hours:

8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Monday–Friday (up to 20 hours per week)

Responsibilities

Plan, develop, implement, assess, and coordinate all marketing and promotional materials for the department.

Design, update, and supervise the department’s website and all web‑based projects, including social media engagement.

Develop and improve the department’s social media platforms, track engagement, and respond to posts as needed.

Recruit, hire, train, schedule, and evaluate student marketing assistants, photographers, videographers, content creators, marketing interns, and/or practicum students, and a graduate assistant if applicable.

Coordinate with key stakeholders for the creation of internal and external publications and promotional materials.

Collaborate with other departments on programs and initiatives such as Healthy Hawks and Homecoming.

Serve on department committees for special events and campaigns.

Act as the communications liaison for the department.

Evaluate, assess, review, and manage all activities related to production of marketing materials.

Manage technology needs and equipment orders for photographers, videographers, and content creators.

Oversee and serve as point of contact for marketing software used by the department.

Coordinate submission of marketing materials to various media outlets and partner departments.

Manage the marketing and communications budget.

Develop comprehensive, integrated marketing plans aligned with divisional and departmental goals.

Oversee the department’s participation in fairs, visitation days, orientations, and other events.

Ensure all communications adhere to university brand identity and trademark standards.

Attend staff meetings, in‑service education sessions, and serve on university committees and boards as needed.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a discipline related to the position, or equivalent combination of training and experience (degree must be from an accredited institution).

Experience managing websites and digital marketing initiatives (web, e‑mail, social, mobile, content).

Experience with project planning, time management, and resource allocation to meet complex marketing needs.

Graphic design skills and experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro).

Knowledge of university branding and trademark standards.

Preferred Education, Knowledge, Skills & Experience

Additional experience in project planning, time management, and resource allocation for complex marketing projects.

Experience with graphic design and publication suite.
