The Video Editor/Production Specialist works in all aspects of production for JDS Creative Academy, from green-screen studio work to fieldwork to live production and post-production editing and after effects. The position works on all productions the studio takes on from television shows, business client projects, sizzle & Demo reels, independent films, teaching projects .and internal and external marketing and communication videos events live and virtual. This position also requires over night travel.


This position is responsible for editing and assisting in the filming of JDSCA’s broadcast magazine-style news and information show Spirit of Innovation Arts Across America , as well as editing, filming, and photography as needed for the studios’ promotional videos, clients’ videos, social media videos, and other internal and external productions. This position also requires working with and instructing JDSCA job-training program participants as they learn video production and post-production, and assisting the participants as they create their video projects from start to finish.


Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite /Premiere, After Effects, Audition, and Photoshop & Canva is a must. Knowledge of video production, working with broadcast cameras, audio, and live streaming are also required


This position is full-time scheduled at 37 plus hours a week M-F 10 - 6 PM. There is some flexibility with hours. There is an average of 5-10 additional hours and some times OT a month requested, weekends are involved 4 – 6 times a year, and overtime and double time can come into play. There is also opportunity to travel with the founders on overnight events to places around the world.


Job duties are not limited to this job description, and additional duties may be assigned. All employees support the nonprofit where and when needed.


JDS Creative Academy is a nonprofit that requires all hands on deck for events, productions, and programs. All employees are to ensure the JDS Creative Academy job-training program is running in an appropriate and productive manner which includes prompting and redirecting program participants when necessary.


Employment is conditional on having a clean Background Live Scan, and the new hire will need to get CPR and First Aid certified within the first 30 days of employment, if not already CPR certified, prior to employment. Any incurred costs will be reimbursed. JDS Creative Academy is a nonprofit 501c3.
