We are currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Italian Social Media Content Moderator to join our dynamic team based on-site in Athens, Greece. This exciting Italian-speaking job places you at the heart of the social media industry, where you will play a vital role in ensuring that online platforms remain safe, respectful, and compliant with community standards for Italian-speaking users around the world.
Key Responsibilities
Review, assess, and moderate user-generated content submitted on social media platforms in the Italian language, ensuring adherence to platform community guidelines and policies.
Identify and take appropriate action on content that violates standards, including hate speech, graphic material, misinformation, spam, and other harmful or inappropriate posts.
Accurately categorise flagged content and escalate complex or high‑severity cases to senior moderation teams or specialist departments in a timely manner.
Provide clear, well‑documented decisions and feedback on moderation cases in line with established social media industry protocols and internal quality benchmarks.
Monitor emerging trends, viral content, and evolving threats within the Italian‑speaking social media landscape, reporting insights to team leaders.
Collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams, including Trust & Safety and Policy teams, to continuously improve moderation processes and platform safety outcomes.
Participate in regular calibration sessions, training updates, and quality assurance reviews to maintain the highest standards of content moderation accuracy.
Contribute to a positive and supportive team environment, demonstrating resilience and professionalism when handling sensitive or challenging social media content.
Requirements
Native or fluent proficiency in Italian (both spoken and written) is essential for this role — candidates must be able to assess nuanced Italian-language content with cultural accuracy.
Valid EU passport or relevant documentation confirming the right to work within the European Union (mandatory).
A strong understanding of social media platforms, digital communication trends, and online community behaviours within Italian-speaking markets.
Excellent attention to detail, strong critical thinking skills, and the ability to make consistent, fair, and well-reasoned decisions under pressure.
Good working knowledge of English to communicate effectively with international teams and navigate platform tools and internal documentation.
Prior experience in content moderation, trust and safety, customer support, or a related field within the social media or digital industry is considered a significant advantage.
Emotional resilience and the ability to maintain professionalism and objectivity when regularly exposed to sensitive, graphic, or otherwise challenging content.
