Vos missions
The Director of Business Development drives the disciplined execution of Ceva’s North American external growth and external innovation deals from qualification through close. This role takes ownership of opportunities in the middle of the pipeline, once they are strategically and scientifically validated—where strategic intent must convert into signed, value-creating agreements—and carries them across the finish line. The Director leads complex, multi-stakeholder transactions including in‑licensing, partnerships, distribution arrangements and acquisitions regarding products, portfolios or technologies (platforms, delivery systems, etc.) across all animal species.
Reporting to the Strategic Alliances VP, the Director partners closely with Commercial leadership, Finance, Legal, Regulatory, R&D, and other functions, as well as Ceva’s global strategy and business development teams. The role serves as the connective tissue between early‑stage opportunity identification and operational integration, ensuring deals are sourced, assessed, structured, negotiated, contracted, and transitioned with rigor and speed.
Responsibilities
Deal sourcing and assessment: partner with internal and external stakeholders and coordinate efforts to ensure consistent sourcing and evaluation of potential opportunities.
Deal execution and closing: own opportunities from mid‑funnel through signature, advancing diligence, structuring terms, driving negotiations, and securing internal approvals.
Pipeline progression: manage a portfolio of active opportunities, removing bottlenecks, maintaining momentum across stage gates, and ensuring no deal stalls.
Cross‑functional orchestration: coordinate diligence and deal teams spanning Finance, Legal, Regulatory, R&D, Marketing, and Supply Chain; align stakeholders and resolve competing priorities.
Commercial and financial structuring: partner with Finance to build and pressure‑test deal models, valuation assumptions, and business cases; with Legal to structure terms that protect Ceva’s interests.
Negotiation: lead or co‑lead commercial and contractual negotiations with partners, licensors, and counterparties, balancing speed and deal certainty.
Governance and approvals: prepare and present opportunity reviews, deal recommendations, and approval materials to North American and Global leadership, including investment committee submissions.
Transition to integration: ensure a clean handoff of closed deals to commercial, operational, R&D and integration owners, with clear documentation of terms, commitments, and value drivers.
Market and partner intelligence: maintain awareness of the competitive, regulatory, and partnering landscape across Ceva’s business lines to inform deal strategy and sourcing.
Pipeline reporting: provide accurate, timely visibility into deal status, risks, and probability to leadership.
