The Opportunity

We're looking for a sharp, driven public affairs professional who is ready to step into a senior role at a firm where the work and the team is genuinely exceptional. As a Director, you'll lead accounts, counsel clients and play a meaningful role in driving outcomes on California's most consequential policy issues.
Our firm is independently owned, which gives us the freedom to build a portfolio around work we believe in. Our clients are long-term partners and our team is one of the best in the state — collaborative, curious and supported at every level by firm leadership that's actively engaged in your growth and the quality of your work.
What You'll Do

Develop and implement strategic public affairs programs with strong command of client objectives, timelines and deliverables
Serve as a day-to-day account lead; manage client relationships and ensure high-quality, timely execution
Draft and oversee the development of strategic communications materials including messaging frameworks, stakeholder and digital content and media strategy
Monitor the California policy and political landscape; synthesize news and regulatory developments for client counsel
Provide junior team members with mentorship, guidance and constructive feedback to support their professional growth
Support coalition building, stakeholder outreach and advocacy campaign activities on behalf of clients
Contribute creative ideas and strategic thinking to advance client programs and agency initiatives
What We're Looking For

6 years of experience in public affairs, strategic communications, political campaigns or a related field
Strong working knowledge of California's policy, regulatory and political environment
Experience managing accounts or campaigns with accountability for strategy and client relationships
Excellent written communication skills; comfort drafting a wide range of strategic content
A team-oriented mindset with the ability to mentor junior staff and contribute to a collaborative culture
Campaign, advocacy or agency background
Motivated by meaningful work — you want to know that what you do moves the needle
Why Join Us

Independent, locally owned agency with the autonomy to work on projects that align with our values
Long-standing client relationships with real continuity and strategic depth
Award-winning team — you will be surrounded by people who push you to do your best work
Senior leaders who are present, supportive and invested in your career
High-profile work on California's defining policy debates
Hybrid work environment built for flexibility and long-term sustainability
