NATURE OF WORK
Under close supervision, performs work of a routine nature in a legal office environment. This position has office specific responsibility.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Reviews, redacts and copies recordings contained on digital media
Reviews, redacts and copies digital images
Reviews, redacts and copies electronic documents
Enters information and digital files into case management system
Transcribes meeting and interview notes and recordings
Develops and maintains office records and files
Prepares and processes confidential and sensitive legal documents and correspondence
Sorts, indexes and retrieves forms, correspondence and documents
Checks and completes records, forms and documents
Creates and maintains logs of activities
Maintains regular and reliable attendance
Performs other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or GED equivalent plus one (1) year of experience working in an office environment; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Requires a successful completion of a background check.
Special Requirements
Bilingual (English and Spanish) preferred.
Knowledge of
County policies and procedures
General office practices and procedures
Business English, spelling, punctuation, and grammatical usage
Digital editing software, practices and procedures
Skilled in
Maintaining confidentiality
Use of the English language, including spelling, punctuation and grammar
Preparation of documents and reports
Operating various office equipment and word processing
Creating and maintaining files
Taking and recording notes
Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with employees, other agencies and the public
Prioritizing work assignments to meet time constraints
Ability to
Plan, prioritize, manage and respond to multiple assignments in a fast‑paced environment
Accomplish assigned tasks under minimal supervision
Use modern office equipment and computers
Communicate effectively verbally and written
Lift up to 5–25 lbs.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT
The usual and customary methods of performing the job’s functions require the following physical demands: occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; some stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; significant fine finger dexterity; generally the job requires 60% sitting, 20% walking and 20% standing; working at a computer monitor for extended periods required; the job is performed under minimal temperature variations and in a generally hazard free environment.
There is an extreme likelihood of exposure to graphic images and recordings.
