Communications & Marketing Coordinator Position Overview: This is a part‑time (less than 20 hours per week), in‑office position located in Oklahoma City (3500 Martin Luther King Ave, Oklahoma City). The coordinator works Monday through Friday with flexibility for working hours. The role focuses on increasing brand awareness and engagement for the Oklahoma Turnpike Authority through content development, social media management, and marketing campaigns across digital channels.
Compensation Hourly rate: $26.24 per hour.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities Social media coordination: assist in updating OTA’s social media accounts (Facebook, Instagram, X/Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, etc.) by scheduling posts, responding to messages, and interacting with followers.
Content creation: develop engaging content, including graphics, videos, and written posts for social media and other digital platforms that align with the brand voice; produce presentations and other written communication such as media advisories, press releases, traffic advisories, and talking points.
Campaign support: aid in the development and execution of marketing and public education campaigns and promotions to increase engagement.
Analytics tracking: monitor and analyze performance of social media content and marketing campaigns, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
Market research: conduct research on industry trends and social media strategies to shape marketing initiatives.
Collaboration: work closely with the PR and marketing team to brainstorm new ideas and strategies to increase brand awareness, customer engagement, and public education.
Minimum Qualifications Degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Business, or a related field with at least two years of college credits and/or two years’ experience with project management or within the business related field.
At least one year of experience in digital marketing and/or social media, preferably within the transportation industry.
Excellent communication and writing skills.
Knowledge of social media platforms and content creation tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Suite).
Experience with social media analytics and reporting tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Hootsuite) is a plus.
Creative, detail‑oriented, and able to work independently and collaboratively.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
Preferred Requirements Knowledge of public relations principles and techniques, accepted media styles, media sources, visual graphics and video techniques, agency objectives, editing techniques and procedures, graphic terminology, and training principles.
Ability to write and edit, gather and organize data, uphold public relations principles and ethics, deliver informational presentations, establish and maintain effective working relationships, and communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
