Our employees work with students, faculty, and practitioners from local and global social‑problem‑solving organizations to develop the faith and skills to solve social problems.

The Marketing and Communications (MarComms) team is responsible for elevating the Ballard Center’s brand and building our engaged community of over ten thousand changemakers. We manage key platforms with over 1.2 million annual views and use data‑informed strategies to increase the Ballard Center’s influence and impact.

As a Social Media Specialist, you will be instrumental in fostering and growing our online communities on platforms such as LinkedIn, Instagram and Facebook. Your role will involve organizing the content calendar, scheduling posts, brainstorming and proposing ideas for content, coordinating with team members on the creation of posts, engaging with our audience and community groups, and reporting on the performance of the content. Your efforts will support our goal of inspiring changemakers to Do Good. Better.

You must be reliable, responsible, organized, driven, and a great problem‑solver. All work is in‑person at 360 TNRB. Must work a minimum of 10 hours per week during normal office hours, and a maximum of 20 hours per week during the school year.

Your schedule can be custom designed to work with your classes, but once it is set, you will be expected to keep that schedule.

Qualifications/Skills

Strong organizational skills and ability to work within a structured system.

Responsive and open to feedback. Passionate about continued growth and improvement.

Ability to propose creative content ideas that align with the Ballard Center’s mission and drive community engagement.

Basic understanding of social media metrics and performance tracking, with a willingness to learn and adapt based on data insights.

Self‑motivated problem‑solver who can see a need and help solve it.

Professional in appearance and presentation.

Detail‑oriented with a high standard of excellence for the quality of content produced.

History of completing tasks in a timely and accurate manner.

Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse audiences and other team members.

Experience with Microsoft Office, Outlook, CapCut and Canva preferred.

Previous participation with the Ballard Center is preferred.

Responsibilities
The Social Media Community Engagement Specialist will help the Marketing and Communications team enhance the Ballard Center’s online presence and foster engagement among students, faculty, and other stakeholders through strategic social media interactions.

Assist the Digital Media Team Lead with promoting engagement in social media presence and groups.

Organize the social media content calendar.

Propose content ideas and help coordinate the creation of social media posts.

Acquire supervisor approval on all content to be published to our channels.

Initiate and participate in conversations, respond to comments, and address questions from community members to encourage meaningful interactions.

Attend staff meetings to discuss strategies, provide updates on community engagement, and align social media efforts with overall marketing goals.
