We are seeking a highly creative and commercially driven Senior Apparel Designer to lead the development of trend‑right collections for the Young Men’s business across major mass retail channels. This role will own key categories from concept through execution, partnering closely with merchandising, sourcing, sales, and production teams to deliver product that balances trend, quality, and value for today’s young consumer.
Key Responsibilities:
Own the design and development of seasonal Young Men’s assortments across knit tops, fleece, lounge, bottoms, swim, and fashion categories from concept through production handoff.
Create CADs, technical packages, and product briefs with a strong understanding of fabrication, garment construction, washes, and value engineering.
Research youth culture, fashion, color, fabric, and consumer trends to create commercially successful product strategies tailored to mass retail customers.
Develop seasonal concepts, trend stories, color palettes, and line architecture that align with retailer needs and resonate with the 18–30 consumer.
Lead customer presentations and collaborate with sales and creative teams to build compelling assortments for major accounts.
Partner cross‑functionally with sourcing and production teams to ensure design intent, cost targets, and development timelines are achieved.
Drive innovation across both licensed & private label programs while maintaining a strong commercial point of view.
Manage multiple programs simultaneously while adhering to seasonal calendars and key milestones.
Qualifications
7+ years of apparel design experience, preferably within Young Men’s, mass retail, value, or volume‑driven channels.
Strong understanding of youth trends, trend forecasting, fabric development, garment construction, and cost‑conscious product creation.
Experience designing categories such as graphics, fleece, lounge, knit tops, bottoms, and lifestyle product for the Young Men’s consumer.
Advanced proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
Experience working directly with major retailers such as Walmart, Target, Club, or off‑price accounts is strongly preferred.
Proven ability to manage multiple programs simultaneously in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment.
Excellent communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
This role is ideal for a designer who combines strong fashion instincts with commercial acumen, understands the evolving Young Men’s customer, and is excited to take ownership of significant categories and customer relationships within a growing organization.
