PVH (Tommy Hilfiger/Calvin Klein) is hiring: Content creator in Bakersfield

KGET in Bakersfield is looking for an experienced, imaginative producer to lead our streaming news platform. The ideal candidate will have experience with traditional broadcast news, a creative understanding of the potential of streaming television, and the ability to bring that understanding to fruition.
We want to build that streaming channel into an institution equal to our legacy No. 1 broadcast channel. The successful candidate will be able to conceptualize and execute ideas for original streaming programming and combine several broadcast stories into a single CTV show.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Recognize and practice teamwork and cooperation as a core value.
Produce shows and content, expert in technical aspects of creating episodes, getting them into the app, and helping promote KGET+ across platforms.
Curate and aggregate a steady stream of interesting content packaged and promoted to generate engagement and repeat site visitation.
Familiarize with all available Nexstar streaming shows, recognize those of greatest interest to our audience, and balance local and Nexstar content into a 24/7 schedule that draws the biggest audience.
Monitor all forms of media (print, TV, digital, blogs and social) and be the quickest to report breaking news stories, hunt for exclusive or trending content that will grow engagement and drive loyal, local traffic.
Understand different ways to tell a story, particularly producing short videos and choosing great photos.
Build positive working relationships with newsroom staff and management, collaborate on enterprise content, and create opportunities to market web content on broadcast.
Train station members in streaming studio operations.
Oversee the streaming studios production calendar.
Work with engineering on issues and needs for streaming studios.
Assist the News Director in hiring as needed.
Work flexible hours as needed.
Perform additional tasks as needed.
Typical Day

The Streaming Television Producer will attend local editorial meetings as needed or assigned. They will have familiarity with local, regional, and national content and use data to make decisions on what stories to publish and how to showcase them on KGET+. They will take stories from newsroom and digital reporters and help package the content for optimal engagement.
Physical Demands & Work Environment

The Streaming Television Producer must be able to sit, conduct telephone conversations, use electronic mail, write letters and memos, conduct face-to-face discussions with individuals or groups, make decisions without supervision, and work indoors in environmentally controlled conditions. They must be able to handle, control or feel objects, tools or controls. Repetitive movements are required. Work may be conducted in extremely bright or inadequate lighting conditions.
