Position Summary
Western Carolina University seeks a qualified part‑time adjunct faculty to enhance its academic program in the broadcasting concentration. These appointments are on a course‑by‑course basis. Salary is commensurate with education, experience and discipline. The university continually develops a qualified pool of candidates, and interested applicants will be contacted to discuss teaching opportunities as needs arise each semester.

Responsibilities

Teach broadcasting courses on a course‑by‑course basis.

Develop course materials, assignments, and assessments aligned with program objectives.

Mentor and evaluate students in the broadcasting concentration.

Minimum Qualifications

PhD or master’s degree in the teaching discipline or a master’s degree with a concentration in the teaching discipline (minimum 18 graduate semester hours in the teaching discipline) OR substantial professional experience in video/film production.

Experience working with video and DSLR cameras and basic editing skills in Adobe Premiere Pro or other NLE software.

Knowledge of live television studio is desired.

All new employees are required to provide official transcripts within 30 days of employment.

Preferred Qualifications

A terminal degree is preferred.
