Virtelligence is a global healthcare IT consulting firm supporting leading health systems, payers, and healthcare organizations across the United States. For more than 25 years, we have helped clients deliver high-impact technology initiatives across Epic, healthcare IT staffing, managed services, digital transformation, cloud, data, cybersecurity, and enterprise applications.
We are looking for a people-centered, healthcare IT professional who understands the Epic consulting world and can help us strengthen relationships with both our consultants and our clients.
Role Overview
The Epic Consultant Relationship Manager will serve as a trusted partner to Epic consultants, client stakeholders, recruiters, and account teams. This role is focused on consultant success, client relationship support, retention, redeployment, performance follow-up, and long-term relationship building. This is a relationship-driven consulting role for someone who understands healthcare IT, Epic projects, staffing delivery, and the importance of keeping great consultants engaged, supported, and aligned with client needs.
The ideal candidate may have worked at Epic, supported Epic initiatives at a health system, worked in healthcare IT consulting, or managed Epic consultants in a staffing or professional services environment.
Key Responsibilities
Build and maintain strong relationships with active Epic consultants before, during, and after client engagements
Serve as a primary relationship point for consultants, helping with engagement, satisfaction, performance, career goals, extensions, and redeployment
Partner with account managers, recruiters, and delivery leaders to align consultant skills with current and future client needs
Support client relationship management by staying close to project needs, consultant performance, client feedback, and upcoming staffing opportunities
Help identify consultant retention risks and proactively address concerns before they become issues
Manage extension and redeployment planning for Epic consultants coming off assignments
Maintain regular communication with consultants to ensure they feel supported, connected, and valued
Participate in difficult but professional conversations related to client feedback, performance concerns, project fit, or transition planning
Develop strong knowledge of Epic staffing needs across modules such as Ambulatory, Cadence, Prelude, Resolute, Willow, Beaker, Radiant, Cupid, OpTime, Orders, ClinDoc, Cogito, Healthy Planet, Tapestry, and MyChart
Support recruiting and talent pipeline efforts by identifying strong Epic consultants, referrals, and market relationships
Help strengthen Virtelligence’s reputation as a trusted Epic consulting partner in the healthcare IT market
Maintain accurate consultant notes, relationship updates, availability, skills, and redeployment opportunities in internal systems
Required Qualifications
5+ years of experience in healthcare IT consulting, staffing, recruiting, account management, client services, customer success, or consultant relationship management
Strong understanding of the Epic EHR ecosystem and Epic-related staffing needs within hospitals, health systems, or payer organizations
Experience working with consultants, contractors, project teams, or client stakeholders in a fast-paced healthcare IT environment
Strong relationship-building, communication, follow-up, and problem-solving skills
Ability to manage a portfolio of consultants and relationships with professionalism and accountability
Comfortable having honest conversations with consultants and clients when performance, engagement, or alignment issues arise
Ability to partner closely with recruiting, sales, delivery, and leadership teams
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience working at Epic, with an Epic client, or on Epic implementation, optimization, support, or managed services initiatives
Experience supporting Epic staffing, Epic consulting delivery, or healthcare IT professional services
Familiarity with Epic certifications, module terminology, project phases, go-lives, upgrades, optimization, and managed services models
Experience with consultant retention, redeployment, extension planning, or resource management
Existing relationships within the Epic consultant or healthcare IT community
Experience with RecruitBPM, HubSpot, Bullhorn, Salesforce, Workday, or similar tools
Interest in using AI-enabled tools to improve recruiting, consultant engagement, documentation, and relationship management
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a strong relationship builder who genuinely enjoys working with people. You understand that great consulting firms succeed by taking care of both clients and consultants. You know how to build trust, listen well, follow through, manage expectations, and create long-term value.
You do not need to be a deeply technical Epic analyst, but you should understand the Epic landscape well enough to speak confidently with consultants, recruiters, account managers, and healthcare IT leaders.
