The Graduate Assistant for Sports Information & Creative Services works directly with the Sports Information & Creative Director to tell the story of MIU Athletics — producing the graphics, video, and live event coverage that build the program's brand, support recruiting, and document the Pioneer journey for fans, families, and the campus community.
This role is ideal for a graduate student who wants hands-on, portfolio-building experience across graphic design, video production, live event broadcasting, and collegiate sports media in a fast-growing, startup athletics environment.

Strong photography and videography skills, including in low-light gym and field conditions
Comfort operating camera, audio, and streaming equipment, and troubleshooting technical issues in real time
Strong written communication skills for captions, articles, and game recaps
Availability to work a maximum of 20 hours per week, including evenings, weekends, and travel for road games as needed
Ability to work collaboratively with coaches, student-athletes, and athletics staff in a fast-paced, early-stage program
Openness to learning and integrating Consciousness-Based Sports (CBS) principles into department storytelling and brand voice
Preferred Qualifications Experience producing collegiate or amateur sports content, including game-day social media and recap content

Experience hosting, emceeing, or announcing live events or broadcasts
Motion graphics, animation, or web design skills
Experience managing social media content calendars and analytics
Familiarity with NAIA or collegiate athletics communications standards
Personal practice of Transcendental Meditation or genuine interest in mindfulness-based performance training (not required)
Responsibilities Content Creation & Graphic Design
Design graphics for social media, the athletics website, recruiting materials, and game-day signage, consistent with MIU Pioneers brand guidelines
Edit photo and video footage into polished highlight reels, recaps, hype videos, and social-ready content
Build and maintain a content library of photos, video, and graphics organized by sport and event
Photography & Video Coverage
Provide photography and video coverage of practices, competitions, and special events across all MIU Pioneers sports
Capture candid and action photography for use in recruiting, marketing, and donor communications
Coordinate coverage schedules with the Creative Director to ensure consistent representation across teams

Set up, operate, and troubleshoot live-streaming and broadcast equipment for home competitions
Support or lead game-day production elements, including camera operation, graphics overlays, and audio
Assist with hosting and emceeing athletic events, award ceremonies, and special programming as needed
Support execution of athletics special events, including setup, run-of-show, and breakdown
Brand, Digital Presence & Department Support
Assist with managing MIU Athletics' social media accounts, including scheduling and publishing content
Contribute articles, recaps, and athlete features to the athletics website
Support the Sports Information & Creative Director with administrative tasks tied to content production and event logistics
