Description
St. John's University Chappell Players Theatre Group is seeking to hire a Director/Choreographer, Music Director and Lighting Designer for its upcoming Fall 2026 musical, COME FROM AWAY.
The Chappell Players is a non-equity, undergraduate, student-based organization whose mission it is to develop and promote theatre arts within the university and the surrounding communities.
Come From Away Dates
- Musical Workshop: September 3rd (6-10PM)
- Student Auditions: September 7th – 10th (5:30-11PM)
- Rehearsals begin: September 12th
- Tech: October 10th - 15th
- Show Opens: October 16th, 2026
- Show Closes: October 24th, 2026
All rehearsals (evenings during the week and afternoons on weekends) and performances will be held on St. John's University Queens campus.
Compensation
- Director/Choreographer: $3,400
- Music Director: $3,400
- Lighting Designer: $950
We will keep submitted resumes for review and possible future hires throughout our season which will include a mainstage production and a children’s show for elementary school audiences, both in Spring 2027, to be announced.
