YOUR ROLE
We are hiring a cross‑channel Media Planner to manage day‑to‑day planning responsibilities and lead strategic media plan development. The role requires proximity to NewYorkCity and offers a hybrid work arrangement.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain and grow foundational knowledge of online and offline media channels.
- Collaborate with Investment, Redbox (Analytics), and Strategy teams to incorporate audience insights into strategic recommendations.
- Manage weekly status calls and serve as the main point of contact with clients.
- Manage client budgets and maintain flowcharts to ensure holistic media plan accuracy.
- Monitor media and client trends and adjust plans accordingly.
- Collaborate with the Investment team on tactical presentations, ensuring a clear story rooted in strategy.
- Utilize tools such as Vivvix/Pathmatics, YouGov, MRI/Simmons, Infegy, Commspoint, RBOO, and NMI to rigorously query data and usage.
- Act as the first gatekeeper and reviewer for Assistant Planners’ work.
- Articulate a strong understanding of quantitative media strategy elements (media mix, channel role, reach & frequency, flighting, etc.).
- Comprehend client business objectives and align media strategy accordingly.
- Encourage media and creative integration through cross‑agency presentations and timelines.
- Develop holistic, strategic media plans in partnership with Supervisors and Directors.
- Translate target audience behaviors into actionable segments with the Investment team.
- Interrogate tactical plan details to ensure strategic alignment.
- Evaluate media metrics beyond basic effectiveness, including layers of quality.
- Develop strategic media POVs for clients.
- Participate in training programs to enhance professional growth.
- Mentor Assistant Planners and provide ongoing feedback.
- Contribute positively to company culture and troubleshoot team issues.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree.
- 2‑3+ years of media planning experience at an ad agency.
- Ability to juggle multiple client projects, meet deadlines, and manage time in a fast‑paced environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent analytical and math skills.
- Independent work capability and project management from start to finish.
- Experience managing and mentoring junior team members.
- Initiative in acquiring new skills and taking on workload.
- Professionalism and confidence when working with vendors, team members, and clients.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
SALARY
$63k–$75k, determined by skills, qualifications, and tenure.
