San Francisco State University seeks applications and nominations for the position of Senior Director, Corporate and Foundation Relations.

Responsibilities

Manage the planning, organizing, and implementation of a robust corporate and foundation fundraising program with the goal of increasing financial support aligned with the University’s strategic and campaign priorities.

Work with senior academic leadership and faculty to develop and implement engagement strategies and relationships that increase opportunities for corporate and foundation philanthropy, collaborative research, sponsorships, professional and executive training, student internships and recruitment, and continuing education.

Develop deep understanding of the nuances of effective foundation grant seeking and the business and marketing needs of corporations; create and execute complex relationships and strategies to address them.

Facilitate communication among campus stakeholders and empower units to build deeper and broader partnerships with current and potential funders.

Lead the Corporate & Foundation Relations program to advance the University’s mission and goals through greater corporate and foundation engagement and philanthropic support.

Partner with SF State’s colleges and other fundraising units; collaborate with assigned development officers to identify fruitful matches with corporate and foundation funding sources.

Coordinate University Advancement’s corporate and foundation activities with peers in the Office of Research & Sponsored Programs.

Report to the Associate Vice President for University Development and supervise the Director of Corporate & Foundation Relations.

Qualifications

Self-motivated individual with proven networking and leadership skills.

Deep understanding of foundation grant seeking and the business and marketing needs of corporations.

Ability to develop and manage complex relationships and strategic engagement plans with corporate and foundation funders.

San Francisco State University is a component of the California State University system and is located in San Francisco. SF State offers comprehensive, rigorous, and integrated academic programs. The university is committed to a flexible working arrangement with a hybrid structure of 3 days in person on campus and 2 days remote.
